Hey - Here's the good news: Only 19 more sleeps until Christmas
With the holiday season fast approaching, or if you are lucky enough to have already started, we thought it an opportune time to give our beloved members an update.
Firstly, thanks to all who have supported us since we opened back in July, we have been very busy trying to get operations and facilities completed and really appreciate your patience and support in this period. 2019 will continue to be busy, with some exciting events and upgrades in the not too distant future.
This weekend, we see the Australian Squash Tour (AST) Finals being played at the centre, how exciting to be able to see the best of our local Australian players fight it out for the coveted AST Title and associated prizemoney right here in our centre. We will also be streaming the event, but the best seat in the house is right on your door step … so don’t miss out, come on down, the café / bar will be open!!. But what is that I hear you say …. Ï don’t just want to come and watch, I want to play squash!”… well we have that covered. The inaugural Carrara Open is also being held this weekend … and it’s NOT TOO LATE to enter. But you must act today to be included in this fabulous event. Call us NOW at the Centre (5532 5756) or go online (www.sportyhq.com/tournament/view/Carrara-Open) and get your entry in. All grades are welcome, and we will try and accommodate playing times.
Have you got concerns that you may indulge in a little too much festivities in the upcoming weeks … well it’s good to know that we will be open for most days over the holiday period – so there’s no excuse not to come burn off some calories, avoid the relatives or have some family fun during December and January.

- 2nd January onwards - Normal hours
OK Peeps, we all must pay our outstanding QSquash Affiliations. QSquash and Gold Coast Inc have reminded us that if you are playing Pennants, it is mandatory to pay your fees, if you do not, you may be removed from the team and you will not be able to play in any finals. Just go to SportyHQ (www.sportyhq.com), login and follow the links, it’s that easy. We have some handy hints on the Squash Australia Website (http://www.squash.org.au/w/sportyhq) However, we all know that sometimes we just need a little help, as technology is not always our friend, well that’s ok because the staff at the centre are more than willing to help. Just let them know the next time you’re there and we will make sure you are all paid up and legit by the time you leave.
Now let’s finish up by looking forward to 2019. We have several grant applications in the pipeline ... so “hello” to completed flooring, netting, seating and sound systems. The Centre will be just fabulous when we have it looking at the top of its game. These improvements will be showcased during the World Doubles, Queensland and Australian Masters, Australian National Champs, Australian Club Champs, being hosted right here … How Exciting!!
